As a volunteer at Colonial Woods you become a part of the ministry team. Watching a game is fun but fulfillment comes from being a player. We want to invite you to take the plunge and get involved.

How Do I Get Involved?
There are three paths you could take…

Path #1 The Interest Path
“I think I know what I want to do…” If that’s you, just call or email Pastor Dwight Weber, the Ministry Placement Team Leader, with what you sense you would like to do. To aid you in choosing, check out our suggestions for Serving in Ministry by clicking on the categories to the left that interest you. On each page you can browse through some of the ministry opportunities here at Colonial Woods, or check out the “Want Ads” to see which ministries currently have special needs.

A personal appointment is available to aid you in knowing what your next step is. The Ministry Placement Team will introduce you to the ministry leader in the area in which you are most interested.

Then just jump in and give it a try. Don’t be afraid to check out several places that interest you. We want you to find the place that God has for you and help you identify your “Spiritual Gifts”.

To assist you, we have recently collaborated with an on-line ministry called Uniquely You to provide a comprehensive Spiritual Gift & Personality Profile. If you are interested please contact Michele in the Ministry Placement Office and she will care for the necessary arrangements. Uniquely You is a fee based service.

Path #2 The SHAPE Path
Here at Colonial Woods we believe that the ministry that will bring you the most fulfillment and fruitfulness is determined by your SHAPE or God-given design.

What God made you to be is determiWned by what He intends for you to do. We will understand the purpose we were created for when we understand the kind of person we are. God is consistent with His plan for each of our lives. He would not give us inborn talents, temperaments, spiritual gifts and a whole array of life experiences and not intend to use them. By reviewing and studying these factors, we can discover the ministry God has for us; the unique way God intends for us to serve Him.

At Colonial Woods we focus on the individual approach to ministry rather than the institutional approach. It’s not about what we want you to do or even needing someone to do, it’s about what God has wired you to do. We like to come alongside and help you discover what your ministry shape is. And then assist you in finding where that shape is intended to fit into God’s big plan of service.

Here at Colonial Woods Function Follows Form. We look at five personal factors that God has used over the years to form and shape you for the ministry He wants you to have.

Four to five times a year we offer a four week class on discovering ministry. This class is called Core 301 Discovering Ministry and is offered in the Core Class series on Wednesday nights. To request information, click here to submit your information, and we will send you the most updated schedule.

Following the four week Core 301 class, each participant is offered a personal one-on-one ministry consultation. Trained ministry consultants sit down with you and review your ministry profile and coach you to a ministry best suited for you based on your SHAPE.

Path #3 Jump-in and get your feet wet
This is more of a trial-and-error method of ministry exploration. If you know where you want to serve you can contact the ministry leader and volunteer your services. If you have had previous experience and you already have an idea of what God has called you to do, we welcome your involvement. Ministry to Children and Youth at Colonial Woods Missionary Church:
