Spiritual Growth doesn't just happen, and here at Colonial Woods we recognize that we must be intentional about becoming the disciples that Christ wants us to be. To help everyone who calls Colonial Woods their home walk as Jesus walks, we are offering four classes that will help you develop your spiritual life. Whether these classes are your initial connection to Colonial Woods or you have been here for years, we want to encourage each person to jump in. These four classes will teach what we believe and why we do the things the way we do. They will also provide a system of discovering God's purpose for your life and committing yourself to growing in Him. Core 101Discovering Fellowship — You were designed to be a part of a family and that applies to the church as well. The Bible says a lot about what makes a church. First & Foremost, it's about making a commitment to Jesus. We make this commitment by acknowledging our powerlessness without Him and by accepting His help to become who He wants us to be. God wants us to grow in fellowship, discipleship, ministry, evangelism, and worship. We at CW want to come beside you and watch you grow in all five of these areas. Core Class 201 focuses on three habits that are essential to effectively walking with Christ: how to have a daily time with God; learning how to talk with God in prayer; and how being a giving person reflects Christ. This class is intended to give you tools to help you develop your walk with Christ. God designed your unique mix of gifts, natural abilities, personalities, values, and life experiences to play an essential part in His kingdom. God is consistent in His planning of each of our lives. He would not give us inborn talents and temperaments, spiritual gifts, and all sorts of life experiences and then not have us use them for His glory and our fulfillment. By reviewing and studying these factors, we can discover the ministry God has for us – the unique ways God intends for us to serve Him. This class will help you identify your SHAPE. (SHAPE stands for Spiritual Gifts, Heart Motivation, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences.) Proverbs 16:4 says “The Lord has made everything for His purpose” (LB). God has planned the mission of our lives even before we were born. There are parts of our life mission that apply to every Christian and there are parts of your life mission that apply uniquely to you. When you became a believer you were given a new mission in life. That mission is unique even though there is one part of your life mission that we all have in common. Regardless of what else God wants you to do with your life, He wants us to be on a mission with Him and know how to share our faith with those He brings across our path. Core 401 will teach you how to share Christ with others. To register, click here to email your information to us E.A.C.H.Everyone A Chance to Hear – E.A.C.H. is a collaborative project throughout Port Huron and the Metro Detroit area. This first of its kind community outreach endeavor is aimed to teach and train the Body of Christ (the Church) to effectively share Christ with our community. The goal of the training will be to help people know how to cultivate a relationship and share their personal experience with others by using their personal story. The EACH campaign is about embracing the "each-one-reach-one" strategy so that everyone in the Port Huron area will have a chance to hear about the love of Christ.
