Staff Backgrounds CWCCC team members are selected on the basis of exhibiting:
All staff members are committed to the preservation of life, marriage and families. While specific formal training, experience and expertise varies with each person, all staff members are required to have at least a Master's Degree in a field related to the helping profession and are licensed professionals with the State of Michigan. Our staff also uses a fully-licensed psychologist for our consultations. Director of Counseling: Jack D. Woodburn, M.A., L.P.C. is the director of Colonial Woods Christian Counseling Center, and is currently specializing in working with pastors, missionaries and those in full-time Christian Ministry. Jack has been married to his wife since 1974. They have three children. He holds a Masters Degree in Community Counseling from Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI. Jack was chosen for the Counseling Enrichment Program at Focus on the Family in 1991, sponsored by world-renowned psychologist, Dr. James Dobson. He was one of only 60 persons chosen worldwide to participate in this prestigious program. Jack is affiliated with The American Association of Christian Counselors, Christian Association for Psychological Studies, American Mental Health Counselor Association. He is a Referral Source for Focus on the Family and the Minirth-Meier Clinics. He has also served in the United States Air Force, as a missionary with OMS International, former Resident Director, and Associate Director of Student Services at Bethel College, and former Director of Woodshore Counseling Retreat for Pastors and Families. Linda J. Mang, M. ED., L.P.C. has been a counselor with Colonial Woods Christian Counseling Center since 1991. She graduated with a BA in Psychology from Judson College in Elgin, IL, and holds a Masters Degree in Community and Agency Counseling from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. She has been married since 1967 and has two adult children and two grandchildren. J. Randall Withenshaw, M.S., S.W., L.M.F.T. has been married since 1975 and has three children. He has been a professional counselor in the Bluewater Area since 1988. He joined the staff at Colonial Woods Christian Counseling Center in May of 1999. Randy also serves as the Chairman of Marriage and Family Builders of St. Clair County, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening marriages and families in the Bluewater Area and beyond. He serves on the staff of a local church as Associate Pastor of Family and Educational Ministries. He holds a Masters Degree from Eastern Michigan University in Family and Child Development and Family Systems, has done additional academic work at Michigan State, is a registered Social Worker, and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the State of Michigan. Jonathan P. Howard, M.S.W., L.M.S.W. has been a social worker (C.S.W.) with Colonial Woods Christian Counseling Center since 1999. He has been married since 1994. He and his wife have two children. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Central Michigan University 1993. In 1997 he earned a Masters in Social Work from the University of Kentucky.
