Policies & Procedures
Those who regularly attend Colonial Woods Missionary Church may check out a maximum of three items per person. All ages may use the library facilities. However, a permission slip must be signed by a parent for those children who are in 6th grade or younger. A family registration card must be completed before any material may be checked out. These forms are available in the Library.
A librarian on duty must check out all items. Please sign the card in a legible manner, then the item, and the librarian will stamp the check out card.
Books may be checked out for three weeks and videos for one week. They may be renewed, but only if they are not on a waiting list.
Library Fees
An overdue fee is charged for each item that is not returned by the stamped due date. Books are charged at $.25 and videotapes are $1.00 per week. This is done because it helps keep the books in circulation; it encourages proper stewardship for the Lord's property; and overdue fines are used to purchase new material for the library.
Damaged or lost items will result in replacement cost being charged to the person who has checked out the items.
Donations
The Library Committee must approve items donated to the library before being placed on the shelves. The Board of Christian Education will have the final approval on any controversial items.
Individuals planning to purchase an item (s) for donation to the library should check with the library staff to avoid duplication or potential rejection by the Library Committee. A list of desired items is maintained in the library.
Another way to help is by "Library Building Stamps" that are available at the Family Christian Book Store. Just ask for these stamps when you make a purchase at the bookstore.
