About The Prayer Ministry
Prayer is a love-driven dialogue between us and God. Alvin VanderGriend, in his book Praying God's Heart, says this: "In the Old Testament times God counted on a limited number of persons from the tribe of Levi to be priest to represent the people before Him. These priests were permitted to go where an ordinary Hebrew was not permitted to go, into the very presence of God. Their role was essentially that of intercessors or 'in-between-ers.' Isaiah, however, predicted that a day would come when all of God's people would be called "priest of the Lord" (Isaiah 61:6). That day has arrived, says Peter. The New Testament believers are "a royal priesthood" (1 Peter 2:9). That means we are all priests. We are all officially appointed as intercessors. The privilege of access to God, once very limited, has now been opened to all of us. We are given this access not only to pray for ourselves, but also to pray for others – to be intercessors."
Through our prayer lives, God not only wants to cultivate a healthy personal relationship with the Christ-follower but also wants to work in the lives of those whom He has laid on our hearts. God has called us to intercede for others in order for Him to pour out His blessing on them and to see His love-plan carried out throughout our world.
We, the people of Colonial Woods, want to join God in what He desires to accomplish here on this earth. Join us in the endeavor of prayer.
